May’s plant of the month is the tough Cirsium rivulare ‘Atropurpureum’. I simply adore the beautiful heads on this thistle that flowers throughout the summer months and is a real bee-magnet. There is just something so irresistible about these plants!
This plant is extremely hardy and is also non-invasive although it will spread steadily. It will need dead-heading and some cutting back, however this will prolong its flowering season.
